Young’s Lodge on the Chariton Coronavirus Update – What You Need To Know
Starting on May 4, 2020, Young’s Lodge on the Chariton will being it’s reopening process in accordance with the Show Me Strong Recovery Plan. A strong focus is being placed on personal responsibility of individuals and businesses to practice and promote social distancing. Social distancing will help prevent the spread of COVID-19 from person to person to help promote the health and safety of our community and businesses. The requirements below will be formalized by the County Commissioners to take effect through May 31, 2020 and then will reevaluate as phase 2 of reopening occurs.

Face Coverings & Sanitation
Facemasks will be required during all Young’s Lodge events until further notice. There will be sanitation stations set up in several areas of the grounds during any of our events.
Grounds & Trails
The hiking trails and grounds are all open and accessible. Please practice safe social distancing while using the grounds.
Lodge and Overnight Accommodations
As of May 4th, 2020, privately owned lodges, cabins and overnight accommodations in Macon County are open to groups of less than 10. For the safety of all guests, lodging owners are taking extra precautions per Macon County Health Department and CDC guidelines. Food and Drink
There are many local restaurants, breweries, and wineries that remain open for drive thru or carry out.
Helpful Tips
- Grocery shop before you get to Young’s Lodge. This will help ensure our local retailers are able to keep up with their supply.
- If you do need to go into any local businesses, including the grocery store, we ask that you are mindful of the current CDC guidelines and Governor Parson’s recommendations in regards to face coverings, social distancing, and hand washing.
- If you or someone in your group is feeling ill or under the weather we would ask you to please adhere to the governor’s request and stay home & isolate. Young’s Lodge on the Chariton will be here for your adventures when you are feeling better!
While Macon County is a destination we all love, it is also a very small community of wonderful local residents.
